Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence based practice "that focuses on improving on certain skills, such as social skills, communication, reading, and academics. This also includes adaptive learning skills, such as fine motor dexterity, hygiene, grooming, domestic capabilities, punctuality, and job competence."

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) can provided tools to decrease behaviors that endanger health and safety. It also helps people to become more independent on social skills, communication, and motor movements. 

Positions of ABA

BCBA

Board Certified Behavior Analyst 

A graduate level professional in behavior analysis who is able to practice independently and provide supervision for BCABAs and RBTS.

Overview of requirements: Masters Level or Above Accredited Degree, Completion of Behavior Analytic Coursework, Fulfilled Fieldwork Requirements, and Passing of Boards Exam

*Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) is a state specific licensure granted to BCBAs upon approval. 

BCaBA

Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst 

An undergraduate professional in behavior analysis who practices under the supervision of a BCBA.

Overview of requirements: Bachelors Level or Above Accredited Degree, Completion of Behavior Analytic Coursework, Fulfilled Fieldwork Requirements, and Passing of Boards Exam

RBT

Registered Behavior Technician 

A paraprofessional in behavior analysis who practices under the under the close supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA.

Overview of requirements: High School Level or Above, Completion of 40 Hour Training,  Fieldwork Training, and Passing of Competency and Written Exam
